Australia at the 20th Zurich Film Festival 2024
The 20th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) took place from 3rd-13th October and once again, the AusCham community was provided early access to ticket sales for the only Australian associated film in the festival, “Memoir of a Snail“. Featuring the voices of Australian artists, Jacki Weaver, Eric Bana, Sarah Snook, Magda Szubanski, Nick Cave and more!
“Grace’s life is marked by loss: After the death of her mother, Grace and her twin brother Gilbert are raised by their alcoholic father Percy. When the two are sent to different foster families, she retreats more and more into her shell – just like her beloved snails, which she has cherished since childhood. Over the years, as she befriends the eccentric Pinky, Grace finds new hope despite all her disappointments. MEMOIR OF A SNAIL is a heartwarming animation film about the search for self-love that leaves no eye dry.”
The film’s Australian filmmaker, Adam Elliot, was present at a post screening Q&A, where guests had the opportunity to interact with the film’s director.
