Cross-Border Retirement: Avoid the Mistakes – Zurich
Retirement Across Two Systems: What Australians in Switzerland Must Know
Thank you to everyone who joined us for an engaging discussion on the financial realities facing Australians living in Switzerland. We were delighted by the overwhelming interest in the event — completely sold out, with a waitlist and not a spare seat in the room!
It was a pleasure to explore some of the most common cross-border planning challenges — from ongoing ties to the Australian tax system and the risks of the “in-between years,” to understanding the Swiss three-pillar retirement system and the complexities of retirement planning across multiple countries.
We hope attendees left with greater clarity on when and how to start thinking about retirement planning, and how to approach the future with more confidence.
Many thanks to our speakers, Brett Evans from Atlas Wealth Management; Urs Klingelfuss from Dr. J. Bollag & Cie. AG, moderator Vicki Tanner, President of AusCham and our host, Mark Utting from Turner & Townsend for his hospitality, as well as everyone who stayed afterwards to continue the conversation over the apéro, with wines sourced from AusCham member Paul Liversedge from Real Wines.
We were delighted to host the event in both Zurich and Geneva, and appreciate the strong engagement across both evenings. Special mention to Patrick Canion, AusCham Board member for his support at both events.
