Second Annual Ambassadors Panel – Geneva
Increasing Trade and Cultural Relations in a Challenging World
After the success of last year’s event, we were delighted to again bring you the Ambassadors Panel – a forum for discussion of current trade and cultural events affecting Australians in Switzerland. We were honoured with an insightful and enjoyable discussion held in wonderful surroundings overlooking Lac Leman and the Jet d’eau.
This year, we focused on the relationship between Australia, Greece and the USA. This is especially relevant now that there is greater clarity around the tariff policies of the US. Both Australians and Greeks have a love of travel and culture, and punch well above their weight internationally. Here in Switzerland, they play an important role in shaping trade policy.
A huge thanks to the generosity of our host and panelist Charles C. Adams, Jr., whose experience in international trade and relations gave the audience a unique insight into how Australia and Greece can navigate the turbulent trade waters.
Special thanks to our other panelists: H.E. Ambassador Ioannis Ghikas from Greece and H.E. James Baxter from Australia, who both contributed valuable insights into the opportunities that these changes present to each country, both with each other and with the rest of the global markets.
We are grateful to AusCham’s corporate member, Atlas Wealth Group, for their sponsorship of the event.
