“Taxes & Tannins” – Geneva
AusCham hosted an engaging evening at the Adina Apartment Hotel in Geneva, exploring the future of Australian tax reform in the wake of the Albanese government’s 2025 election victory.
Geoff Taylor (Majenda) revisited key tax changes from the past 40 years and shared insights into what might lie ahead — from superannuation and negative gearing to inheritance tax, residency rules, and even the prospect of citizenship-based taxation.
Together with Carla Smart (Skybound Wealth Management), we also looked at practical case studies on both the “Going Home” scenario and the “Retire in Switzerland/Europe” option, giving attendees real-world perspectives on complex decisions.
The evening concluded with a lively wine tasting and networking session thanks to AusCham members Vinoroo, showcasing outstanding Aussie wines and sparking great conversations. 🍷
