Unlocking Australia’s Market Opportunities – Featuring Switzerland’s Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin
Together with Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Australian Embassy, Switzerland, we were delighted to collaborate with these like-minded organisations to host an event in Zurich featuring guest speaker, Guy Parmelin – Federal Councillor and Head of the Swiss Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.
The occasion also celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Australian Swiss Chamber of Commerce, with its President, Vicki Tanner, reflecting on the Chamber’s pivotal role in strengthening trade relations and promoting bilateral collaboration between Australia and Switzerland.
Speaking to a sold out audience of business leaders and members, Mr Parmelin expressed strong support for deepening diplomatic, scientific, and economic ties with Australia — a timely message ahead of his planned trade mission in July.
Moderated by Simone Wyss Fedele, CEO of Switzerland Global Enterprise, the event — aptly titled “Unlocking Australia’s Market Opportunities” — showcased Australia’s appeal as a stable and strategic investment partner, echoed in Australian Ambassador H.E. Elizabeth Day’s address.
Guests also heard from Patrick Thevoz (CEO, Flyability) and Pasqualino Pansardi (CEO, Ghenpower SA), who shared their reflections on the challenges and opportunities faced entering the Australian market, complemented by broader insights from Daniel Bont, Senior Consultant for China/Oceania at Switzerland Global Enterprise.
